Read MoreYear 5 Aqua Festival @ Ponds Forge
Published 08/02/24This week we took at team of Year 5 children to Ponds Forge for a swimming development festival which had a nice combination of supported races and relays along with some expert tuition from swimming coaches. This was part of the development programme to provide children who have never been to an elite sporting venue such as Ponds Forge to experience being part of a team. Alongside our session, we had the privilege to watch some professional divers preparing for the upcoming Olympics and the Hallam elite swimmers team being put through their paces which was very impressive.

Published 24/01/24This week, we have been conducting another pupil voice to contribute to our school improvement by involving our pupils at SJS in the self-evaluation, planning and decision making processes. In PE, we aim to listen to our children’s views and take them into account when making decisions on our future offer. Children and young people can offer a powerful and unique perspective on what it is like to be a pupil in a PE lesson and by involving them in the decision-making process, they can make meaningful changes, as well as facilitating a sense of empowerment and inclusion.
