Year 6 Boys' Football Competition
Our Year 6 boys' football team was in action competing in the ESFA Cup competition against neighbouring schools, Deepcar, Grenoside and Oughtibridge. Sportsmanship was our key focus, playing within the rules with respect to opponents and officials and being gracious in both victory and defeat. Our team played tough but applied all of these qualities in their game play which was pleasing to see.
We lost our first game 2-0 against a very good opponent in Oughtibridge and drew with Grenoside, however, finished on a real high with a stunning 3-1 victory against our local rivals, Deepcar. A long range effort and a stunning volley gave our team 3 points in a fantastic team performance.
Oughtibridge progress through to the City Finals and we wish them well in that competition. Well done to our team for giving it your all and thank you to our parents for your constant support. We look forward to our league fixtures later in the school year.
