Inclusive Boccia Competition @ Concord Sports Centre

The Inclusive Boccia is one of my favourite competitions to attend as it is so well organised and is set up to be inclusive for all children to take part.

Stocksbridge took three teams this year and played alongside 12 other Sheffield city schools. Boccia is a Paralympic sport introduced in 1984 and is a precision ball sport, similar to bowls. Each team had to take it in turns to throw their ball to get closest to the Jack with points given the the ball that is the closest. It was so nice to see so many children smiling and enjoying taking part in a sports competition and every member of the team came back into school so pleased with their mornings work. Team 2 and 3 came in 3rd place in their pools with team 1 coming 2nd but the morning was about fun for all and getting out of school and into the community. Well done team Stocky!
